Hi im Stuart and welcome to my collection of railway photography, this collection may take some time to form due to having to start from scratch (thanks fotopic) All of my latest stuff can be found in the 'Latest Images' section and after a few weeks will be moved to their relevant collection / collections, thanks must go to all gen and info providers on GWG for their invaluable help and info that has made many of these images possible
I have been back enjoying this hobby since around mid 2006 after a absence of 8 years using my time on other interests, when I first came back I was more interested in number crunching and collecting wagons and rarely if ever used a camera. After a short period of time I bought a Fuji Finepix s9500 bridge camera and that got me interested in the photography side of the railway scene. After many many awful images taken with a few good ones along the way I gradually learnt more and more and with the help, hints and tips from various other photographers slowly improved and in the summer of 2010 took the plunge and purchased a Canon 50D, every day that I pull the camera out of the bag I learn something new and hopefully improve a little more!
October 20th 2011
Highlight of October 2011 was saved for the 20th of the month and an encounter with two classic locos, 20308 + 37606 get into their stride with 6M56 Berkeley - Crewe at Gossington near Cam and Dursley, if it wasn't for Direct Rail Services the current rail scene would be a whole lot less interesting as the vast majority of classic traction that is left on the network is operated by them, this really wasn't my main aim for the morning but with everything coming together just nicely this one just pipped 60099 with 6E41 for me
