56311 screams up the incline at Pilning with 6Z56 Cardiff Tidal - Hoo Junction on the 16th of July 2011, little under a week ago the same grid hauled these very same wagons into Wales loaded with scrap, by the looks of things though this could be the last move in this part of the world for now as the wagons once reaching their destination are expected to go off lease, it would be superb if the select few of these great machines that remain could become a regular feature on freight around the UK again
This was one of them workings that despite the weather just had to be done! I'm sure i wasn't the only one that thought a Class 56 would never work a revenue earning freight service to Wales again, but on the 12th of July 2011 monster grid 56311 is seen powering through Ashchurch with 6Z56 Grimsby Dock - Cardiff Tidal loaded scrap, this service was the first run to Cardiff Tidal by BARS
As the sun rises above the tree line 56311 + 56312 double up at the head of 6Z56 Washwood Heath - Boston empty steel on the 21st of April 2010 seen passing Elford, after driving up from Bristol for this i cut it a bit close for comfort only arriving 5 minutes before the grids did!
56312 leads 47739 through Brent Knoll as 0Z76 Washwood Heath - Tavistock Junction on the 19th of January 2011
